Coventry University is going from strength to strength, recently being nominated as the Modern University of the Year 2015 by The Times and The Sunday Times. They have now achieved phenomenal success – climbing to 15th place in the Guardian University League Tables 2016, surpassing Russell Group Universities including Birmingham, York, Leeds, Nottingham, and Newcastle.
The Guardian league table 2016 rankings are assessed on various factors, including the student-to-staff ratio, the grades of students entering the course versus their final grades and overall student satisfaction based on the National Student Survey (NSS). Coventry University did particularly well in the assessment and feedback part of the survey where students get to share their opinions of their course and the institution as a whole.
According to John Latham, vice-chancellor of Coventry University, this success is due to the continued focus on students’ needs.
“We’re a modern university, but not just in the sense that we haven’t been around for as long. We’re very modern in our approach,” he said.
